DAM Good Runners
The Dam to Dam Hall of Fame will continue to add "DAM
good runners" at future award ceremonies.
Kim Sprain set the early stages
of Dam to Dam's claim as Iowa's Distance Classic by winning three consecutive
titles in 1981, 1982 and 1983. His best time is 1:02:43.
Phil Coppess established himself
as one of the best runners in nation at the 1985 Dam to Dam running
a 59:23, a Dam to Dam all-time record. He also won in 1986.
Richard Kaitany is the second 3-time
men's winner in Dam to Dam history capturing victories in 1984, 1987
and 1988. His best time is 1:00:21, second on the Dam to Dam all-time
list.
Karen Clark established Dam to Dam
for women capturing three consecutive titles in 1983, 1984 and 1985.
Her best time was 1:13:09.
Janice Ettle set the Dam to Dam
all-time records for open women, winning in 1990 with a time of 1:10:08
and master women, running a 1:17:08 in 1999. She also won in 1991.
Bonnie Sons has set the standard
for Dam to Dam victories winning five times in 1989, 1992, 1994, 2000
and 2001. Her best time is 1:12:56.
